Argentina is a top tourist destination of South America due to its natural wonders, wonderful cities, historical and cultural sights. There are numerous regions which are worth visiting in the country. How great it would be to explore all of them?

If you would like to discover Argentina, I suggest you to organize your trip according to the following division: Buenos Aires and its surroundings, Aconcagua and the wine region, Patagonia and the area of glaciers, respective Atacama and the northern region. If you have the necessary money and time, explore all of them! You will surely have part of a unique experience.

Buenos Aires and its surroundings

The buzzing capital city of Buenos Aires is one of the top tourist destinations of Argentina. The city is famous for its huge variety of cultural activities and fascinating tourist attractions. It is usually the city where the majority of tourists arrives and leaves from due to its huge international airport. Besides visiting its tourist attractions, visitors can also learn the tango and milonga dances.

Not only the city, but its surroundings are also very attractive. The seaside resorts of Mar del Plata and Pinamar, the provinces of Santa Fe and Entre Rios are also very attractive for visitors.

Aconcagua and the wine region

The world famous Aconcagua Mountain is a top destination among nature-lovers and the adepts of climbing. It includes the highest peak of the continent and it is characterized by astonishing natural beauty. Located in the western part of the country, it actually forms a separate region together with Mendoza and the famous wine regions of Argentina.

The country and especially this region are renowned for its excellent wine. It is not surprising at all that Mendoza attracts innumerable visitors yearly. You should discover this fantastic region, too. You wouldn’t regret it.

Patagonia and the area of glaciers

Perhaps the most breathtaking natural region of Argentina is the area of Patagonia and the glaciers. Occupying the southern part of the country, Patagonia is characterized by large unpopulated regions, wilderness, ice fields, lakes and astonishing glaciers. There are innumerable sights to visit in this region, including the Los Glaciares National Park (which is home to the most breathtaking glaciers of the country), the city and ski resort of San Carlos de Bariloche, the southernmost city of the world – Ushuaia, the fascinating Tierra del Fuego National Park, the Valdes Peninsula and so on. The wildest region of the country is an absolutely worth visiting area.

Atacama and the northern region

One of the world’s most dry regions, the desert of Atacama is situated in the northern part of the country. This region is also famous for some unusual landscapes like the ones of Salta and the world famous Iguazu Waterfalls. Besides the previously mentioned ones, this large region of the country includes numerous other highlights, too, like the Quebrada de Humahuaca, ancient towns descending from the Incas, the Ibera Wetlands and so on. All of them are worth-visiting sights.
