Located in the Northeast of Argentina, Puerto Iguazú City offers wonderful scenery and a favorite tourist place with spectacular waterfalls and exotic flora and fauna, framed with red rocky cliffs. The city has its own airport: Iguazú International Airport, located 17 Km away from the city centre. The park has more than 270 waterfalls making the area a true tourist spot with 2 million tourists a year. The Iguazo Falls extends two countries Brazil and Argentina. The park’s 2 main gates can be found in a few kilometers away from the cities of Foz the Iguazo in Brazil and Puerto Iguazo in Argentina.  Once you are in the national park, various adventures are waiting to be discovered: exhibitions of natives who lived in the area earlier, jungle tracks and boat rides to the waterfalls are just a few of them.

Güirá Oga Center

It is known to be the haven for native birds, a recovery center for the recuperation of birds. There can be found such exotic species like toucans, macaws, maracanas and species of eagle and parrot endemic to the area. After giving veterinary treatment for the birds, they return to the wild.  By visiting the recovery center, visitors might get the opportunity to see species, that might otherwise never see in the wild.

Aripuca is a small trap built by the native people of the region of Iguazu. The trap serves for capturing animals without harming them. It is an agricultural-ecological-tourist project which illustrates the richness of the Misiones forest. Visitors are also getting  information about the Guarani culture and impressed by the size of the logs used in the construction of the trap.

Wanda Mines

Visiting Wanda Mines could be an interesting option in the area of Puerto Iguazu as well. It is 40 km away from the city. Various colors and shapes of the stones can be found. There is an exhibition room, where gemstones are transformed in order to be used for jewelries.

Other significant worth see attraction in the city is the port, surrounded by cliffs and picturesque rafts.  Boats and catamarans are inviting visitors to go for a ride around the amazing Iguazu River. The city also hosts numerous buildings which dates back from some decades ago like the La Casa del Pionero, Paseo de la Identidad and Paseo de la Artesania. Casino Iguazo and the Duty Free Shop is also  ranked among the best attractions of the city.
