The road to the Glaciers National Park


It is a small town in the Southern-West part of Santa Cruz Province, just at the south bank of the Argantino Lake. Its name comes from a thorny bush, the calafate, having yellow flowers and purple fruits in the summer. The city is a melting pot of culture and traditions, with all of the necessary features that satisfies the visitor’s interest. The climate is mainly dry and the temperature ranges between 20ºC in the summer and -2º C in the winter. Glacier National Park

Well known from its wonderful scenery, scenic values and unique geography, the park belongs to the UNESCO, which declared the park a Natural Heritage of Humanity in the year of 1981.

The Perito Moreno Glacier is located in the southern part of the Glacier National Park.  It is known as one of the most representative natural beauty of Argentina. Its ever changing facade attracts millions of tourists from the different points of the world.

Mt Fitz Roy and El Chalten, situated in the North part of the park, Mt. Fitz Roy is a 3.405 m high mountain with granite mountain peaks and glacial structures. The area is ideal for mountain climbers and for trekkers as well.

Walichu Caves


Walichu Caves, just 8 km far from El Calafate by the shores of Lake Argentino there lays the Walichu Caves. A visit to the caves will take you back over 4000 years ago, when Argentinean aborigines used the drawings of animals, people and maps to aid gather fellow hunters. Some of the drawings have survived because of the protective environment of the caves.

 Lago Roca,the beautiful Lago Roca is a perfect spot for sport fishing. During the summer months the shores of the lake is ideal for camping, trekking and bike riding in a wonderful natural beauty.
