The Road of the Seven Lakes

What is the Road of the Seven Lakes? It is a name given to Argentina’s 234 provincial route which connects Villa la Angostura and San Martín de los Andes. The over 100 km long road crosses two important protected areas: the Lanín National Park and the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Thus, the road provides access to numerous wonderful lakes of which seven (the most beautiful ones) inspired the name of the road.

Besides the Lanín National Park and the famous Nahueal Huapi National Park, another nearby protected area is the Los Arrayanes National Park. It was part of the Nahuel Huapi National Park, but it was separated from it in 1971. Today it protects the arrayán trees of which it was also named.
