Your tourist guide to Neuquén Province

Situated in the western part of the country, the beautiful Neuquén Province is a major tourist destination, as it is home to numerous cultural and natural jewels. There are numerous sights which attract dozens of visitors. Many sights are year-round attractions. Some of these are the following: the Copahue hot baths, San Martín de los Andes, Camino de los Siete Lagos, the Nahuel Huapí National Park, the Lanín National Park, Villa La Angostura, the Laguna Blanca National Park and the Los Arrayanes National Park. Nahuel Huapi National Park

There are several national parks in the province. One of the most beautiful is the Nahuel Huapi National Park. Surrounding the beautiful Nahuel Huapi Lake, it lies at the foot of the Andes. It covers a huge surface of about 7.000 km². The lake is a huge, deep and clear water lake which is very attractive among visitors. The lake is also famous for the fantastic ski resort located at its southern shore. It is the fantastic San Carlos de Bariloche or simply Bariloche. The resort is among the most attractive tourist destinations of Argentina. I suggest you not to miss a visit to this astonishing national park.

Los Arrayanes National Park

A much smaller, but still very attractive national park is the Los Arrayanes National Park. It actually occupies the Quetrihué Peninsula. The national park is famous for its 300 year-old forest of arrayanes of which it also got its name. The park was actually founded to protect the trees. The fauna of the park is varied and attractive for the nature-lovers.

Lanín National Park

Another national park, the Lanín National Park is famous for its volcano with the same name. The Lanín volcano is recognizable for its snowy top and cone shape. The park is also home to three beautiful lakes of which one is the Lácar Lake. The fantastic attractive city of San Martín de los Andes can be found on the shore of the Lácar Lake. The nearby Chapelco ski resort is also very popular among visitors.

Chapelco is actually the name of a mountain in Neuquén Province. This is also the name of the famous ski resort. The resort offers a ski and snowboard school, eight restaurants, cafes and numerous lodges. It is very popular among both local people and tourists. If you love winter sports, you will love this resort.

San Martín de los Andes

The wonderful city of San Martín de los Andes is a popular tourist destination. The landscape of the city is considered among the most attractive in Patagonia. During summer visitors can relax on the beach, while during winter tourists can go to the nearby Chapelco ski resort.
